Online Publication and Upcoming Residency
29th April 2017
Walking Women, the Live Art Development Agency-commissioned publication, is now online. It's a much needed guide to the underrepresented female contingent of artists making walking works, and features my Tapping Into The City project amidst lots of other great work by walking women artists. Take a look here.
It's residency time with AltMFA! We'll be making Guest Projects our home again over the next week (1st-7th May), and exploring the theme of The Future. Come and join us at our open meeting on Tuesday 2nd May (details here) and our open weekend on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th May (details here) where we'll be showing what we've been up to, as well as putting on workshops, performances, live events, food and fun!
The Future and Walking Women
25th April 2017
Exciting news!
AltMFA, the alternative art education group/collective I am part of, has been awarded a-n funding! We decided in these turbulent times to take a theme looking at the future. The bursary will help us to tighten up our programme, pay visiting speakers, gather and make use of information and knowledge more usefully and make it easier to share our learning with the public. We are very thankful and grateful to a-n. More details here.
Making walking women artists visible! Following last year's Walking Women festival at Somerset House (where I presented my Tapping Into The City project), the organisers were invited to create a study room guide for the Live Art Development Agency. The launch is this evening. I'm very excited to have a small part in this, and will be speaking briefly about my work along with many other artists. Details here.
Talking about art and education at Res|Fest
Saturday 11th March 2017
This Wednesday 15th March is Res|Fest at the Courtauld. I'll be there as artist and representative of AltMFA, to take part in a panel discussion about changes to art education and impact on artistic practice. There are representatives from the establishment and the alternative, it should make for an interesting and hopefully fruitful and useful conversation. Details here.
